Company history

The founder, Jugo Iwata, was once a forced labourer in Siberia. He took notice of the excellent quality of Siberian timber. After returning to Japan, he started his business in importing logs from Russia. In 1974, he opened the Moscow Office, and in 1987, he established the first joint venture beetween Japan and the Soviet Union. Since then, for more than half a century, our company has consistently focused on trade with the Soviet Union, and, after its collapse, with Russia.
